The Miss America Organization, a 501(c)4 non-profit organization, is the nation’s leading advocate for women’s education and the largest provider of scholarship assistance to young women in the United States, awarding millions of dollars annually in cash awards and in-kind tuition waivers.  MAO is comprised of 52 licensed organizations, including all 50 states, Washington, D.C., and Puerto Rico.

Miss Contestant Eligibility

  • Must be a  between the ages of 17 and 24
  • Must be a United States citizen
  • Meet residency requirements for competing in a certain city or state
  • ​Must meet character criteria as set forth by the Miss America Organization
  • Must be in reasonably good health to meet the job requirements
  • Must be able to meet the time commitment and responsibilities as set forth by the local, state, and national competitions(s) in which you compete
Children's Miracle Network is the national platform of the Miss America Organization and because of that each contestant must raise at least $100.00 for CMN per local pageant entered (Miss contestants ONLY). However, once $500.00 is raised she may enter as many locals as she would like. Go to www.missamerica4kids.org to register. Teen Contestant Eligibility

  • Must be a young lady between the ages of 13 and 17
  • Must be a United States citizen
  • ​Must meet character criteria as set forth by the Miss America's Outstanding Teen Organization
  • Must be in reasonably good health to meet the job requirements
  • Must be able to meet the time commitment and responsibilities as set forth by the local program in which you compete
  • Must not be eligible to compete in the Miss America competition​
